Enhancement Shaman solo leveling 10–20
A theory Enhancement start for solo leveling from 10 to 20. It raises crit chance on spells and attacks, lets Ghost Wolf be used indoors with a shorter cast, strengthens Lightning Shield orbs, then cuts Shock and Lightning Shield mana cost by 45%. This site has not playtested the order.

Elemental
0 / 51Enhancement
11 / 51Restoration
0 / 51Who this is for
- Shamans who melee and shock while questing.
- Players who want indoor Ghost Wolf before level 20.
Who should skip it
- Dungeon Restoration healing. Healing Wave talents are empty.
- Pure caster Elemental. Concussion and Convection are not in this sequence.
Milestones
- Level 10: First point
Thundering Strikes 1/5. Crit +1% on spells and attacks. Flame Shock rank 1, Searing Totem rank 1 and Strength of Earth Totem rank 1 are also trained at 10.
- Level 14: Five Enhancement points spent
Thundering Strikes 5/5 is +5% crit. Row 2 is legal; Improved Ghost Wolf is the spend at 15. Ghost Wolf itself is not trained yet.
- Level 15: Improved Ghost Wolf starts
The sixth point is Improved Ghost Wolf 1/2 (−1 sec, indoor once the spell exists). Rank 2 at 16 is −3 sec.
- Level 19: Ten Enhancement points spent
Improved Ghost Wolf 2/2 and Improved Lightning Shield 3/3. Row 3 is legal for the 11th point at 20.
- Level 20: Plan complete
Shamanistic Focus. Ghost Wolf, Frost Shock rank 1 and Lightning Bolt rank 4 are trained at 20.
How to play it
- Rockbiter Weapon rank 2 at 8 / rank 3 at 16 (spellbook beta). Windfury Weapon rank 1 is 30, so it is not in this range. Lightning Shield rank 1 at 8 (45 Mana) / rank 2 at 16 (80 Mana); keep it up if you want Improved Lightning Shield’s orb damage and Shamanistic Focus’s 45% Shock and Lightning Shield mana cut at 20.
- Earth Shock rank 3 at 14 (85 Mana) to interrupt. Flame Shock rank 1 at 10 / rank 2 at 18. Lightning Bolt rank 3 at 14 / rank 4 at 20 when you cannot melee. Frost Shock rank 1 is 20 (115 Mana). Searing Totem rank 1 at 10 / rank 2 at 20. Strength of Earth Totem rank 1 at 10. Healing Wave rank 4 at 18 if you need a self-heal. Stoneclaw Totem rank 2 at 18 if a pull is dying.
- Ghost Wolf is trained at 20 (100 Mana). Improved Ghost Wolf ranks spent at 15–16 do not let you wolf at 15; they shorten the level-20 cast (−1 sec then −3 sec) and allow indoor use once the spell exists. Forever rank text includes indoor use; Classic text on this talent does not.
Why this order
Eleven points stay in Enhancement. Elemental and Restoration remain empty.
Thundering Strikes can take the first five points. Improved Ghost Wolf and Improved Lightning Shield are row 2. Shamanistic Focus is row 3 after ten earlier Enhancement points.
Ancestral Knowledge (Intellect) is skipped so the first five points go into crit that both melee and shocks can use.
What the spent talents do
Thundering Strikes
Thundering Strikes adds 1% crit with all spells and attacks per rank, 5% at rank 5.
Improved Ghost Wolf
Improved Ghost Wolf rank 2: Ghost Wolf cast time −3 sec, and Ghost Wolf may be used indoors.
Improved Lightning Shield
Improved Lightning Shield rank 3 increases Lightning Shield orb damage by 15% (5% / 10% / 15%).
Shamanistic Focus
Shamanistic Focus reduces the mana cost of Shock and Lightning Shield spells by 45%. It is a 1-rank talent.
Weaknesses and tradeoffs
- Elemental Weapons (Windfury / Rockbiter bonuses) is on row 3 and is not the 11th point.
- Restoration Healing Wave talents are empty. This is not a dungeon healer plan.
- Earth’s Grasp totem health is skipped on row 1.
Gear notes
- Compare weapon damage, speed and DPS together, then weigh a two-hander against the armor and block from a shield. Speed alone does not establish which weapon deals more damage. Lightning Shield works with either setup. Rockbiter rank 3 is recorded at 16; Windfury Weapon is not in the spellbook until 30.
Optional point
Elemental Weapons at 20
You live on Rockbiter melee more than Shock mana.
Elemental Weapons rank 1 increases Rockbiter melee attack power bonus by 7% and Windfury Weapon effect by 13%. Windfury Weapon is trained at 30, so at 10–20 only the Rockbiter half applies. This is an 11th-point swap after the same ten Enhancement points; Shamanistic Focus is dropped.
