Victory Rush New
Baseline in the Arms tab. An instant melee strike on a 30 sec cooldown that heals you for 10% of your maximum health; usable within 20 sec of killing a non-trivial enemy.
The BlizzCon preview changed more than the talent trees. This page gathers the 34 WoW Forever abilities that changed outside the talents: trained spells, skills and passives that cost no talent points, which the level 38 demo spellbooks showed as new, changed, renamed, newly trainable or removed, grouped by class. Every note links to the talents that reference it, so new skills and changed spells carry straight into your build.
Baseline in the Arms tab. An instant melee strike on a 30 sec cooldown that heals you for 10% of your maximum health; usable within 20 sec of killing a non-trivial enemy.
A trainable Arms passive rather than a talent: you keep up to 10 Rage when you change stances. The Arms talent Improved Tactical Mastery adds up to 15 more.
Still available, and the Fury tree keeps Improved Intercept. It is absent from the level 38 spellbook, so it is probably learned later than level 30.
Rank 3 is trained by level 38, where Classic reached it at 46, and Slam now has a 15 sec cooldown.
Usable in Battle or Defensive Stance. Rank 4 slows enemy attack speed by 20% for 22 sec and hits up to 4 targets; Classic slowed by 10% for 30 sec.
Still trainable, now listed in the Protection tab: 116 health for 10 Rage plus 10 more Rage over 10 sec at level 38.
15 min cooldown and 60% less damage taken for 12 sec, where Classic had 30 min and 75% for 10 sec. In preview footage it was usable while Retaliation was on cooldown, so the shared cooldown with Retaliation and Recklessness appears to be gone.
Two charges over 7 sec baseline, where Classic gave one block for 5 sec. Still 10 Rage, a 5 sec cooldown and Defensive Stance only.

No longer consumes your seal. 10 yd range, 10 sec cooldown. Judging Seal of Fury taunts the target for 4 sec, so Paladins can pick up pulls.
A tanking seal: every hit adds Holy damage, and with a shield equipped you gain an absorb worth half of that damage. Rank 4 by level 38.
A baseline Retribution strike on a 12 sec cooldown dealing weapon damage plus Holy damage; rank 5 by level 38. Several talents build on it.
Both are trainable now instead of talents; Consecration is learned at level 20.

Trainable instead of a Marksmanship talent, with a 2 sec cast where Classic had 3 sec, and a 6 sec cooldown shared with Multi-Shot. Rank 3 by level 38.
Call Pet takes the name of your pet: the demo Hunter's spellbook showed Call Owl.
Rank 1 makes you untrackable and adds 50 melee attack power; Classic only made you untrackable.
Rogues can equip one-handed axes; the Hack and Slash talent lists Axe/Sword as one weapon group.
An execute-style Shadow spell; the Early Demise talent refers to it.
A regular Shadow spell for every Priest rather than an Undead racial: rank 3 by level 38, 1 min cooldown.
Baseline for every Priest with a 3 min cooldown. In Classic it was a Dwarf racial spell.

Half a second faster than Classic: rank 7 has a 2.5 sec cast.
Also half a second faster: rank 1 is a 2 sec cast with a 6 sec cooldown, hitting 3 targets with each jump 30% weaker. Maxed Elemental Alacrity brings Lightning Bolt down to the same 2 sec.
Choose a spot up to 30 yd away and your totems move there instead of appearing at your feet. Totemic Recall is also in the spellbook.
Drops up to four totems from your Totem Bar in a single 3 sec cast.
Base cast time is 2 sec, down from 3 sec in Classic. Improved Ghost Wolf removes 1 sec per rank and allows indoor use, so at 2/2 it is instant.
A spell rather than a totem: 30 yd range, instant, 10 sec cooldown, damaging everything within 10 yd of your active Fire totem, with rank 3 dealing 206 to 231 at level 38. Improved Fire Nova shortens the cooldown by 2 sec.
A small utility spell that deciphers an untranslated scroll, seen on a Skyborne Mage.
A bolt that counts as both Fire and Frost; four talents refer to it.
Enslave Demon under a new name; rank 1 by level 38.
Curse of Agony renamed to a Bane, as is Bane of Doom. Banes and Curses are separate categories, so one of each can be active on a target.
A male counterpart to the Succubus with its own summon; four Demonology talents refer to it.

Both are trainable now instead of talents; they sit in the Balance tab of the level 38 spellbook.
An out-of-combat resurrection with a 10 sec cast. Rebirth keeps its 30 min cooldown.
The bear bleed from later expansions is a baseline ability in Forever; the Shredding Attacks talent reduces its Rage cost. It is not in the level 38 spellbook, so it is learned later.
Not in the spellbook; Abolish Poison is the only poison cure.
How WoW Forever abilities differ from talents, which ones are new and what this page leaves out.
WoW Forever abilities are the spells, skills and passives a class learns from its trainer and reads in the spellbook; they cost gold, not talent points. Talents are the 51 points you place across three trees from level 10 to 60, which is what the calculator plans. This page lists the trained side of each class, and every note links to the talents that modify it.
12 entries carry the New label because Classic had no baseline equivalent. The new skills and spells include Victory Rush for Warriors, Holy Strike and Seal of Fury for Paladins, Shadow Word: Death for Priests, Frostfire Bolt for Mages and Call of the Elements for Shamans. New talents are not repeated here; they appear in the trees on each class page.
Yes. 4 entries are marked Now trainable: Tactical Mastery for Warriors, Aimed Shot for Hunters, Omen of Clarity and Nature’s Grasp for Druids, and Blessing of Kings and Consecration for Paladins moved out of the talent trees and onto the trainer. Use Compare to Classic in the calculator to see how the trees changed around them.
No. Baseline abilities cost no talent points, so the calculator does not add them to a build. The same notes appear on each class page next to the talents, and the talent name links under each note open the full reference entry of every talent that mentions the ability.
No. This page covers the 34 WoW Forever abilities the preview showed as new, changed, renamed, newly trainable or removed; class abilities that simply match Classic are not listed. Ranks and levels reflect the level 38 demo characters, anything above that level was not visible, and the notes are refreshed whenever the source data records more.
Only class abilities are listed here. Racial abilities cost no talent points either; they are listed on the WoW Forever racials page, and the account-wide perks on the Legacy perks page.
Notes on WoW Forever abilities come from the level 38 demo spellbooks and BlizzCon footage, so ranks, levels and wording may change before launch. Check the data sources for the snapshot date and attribution.
