Who this is for

  • Solo questing from 10 to 20 with a two-handed weapon or a slow one-hander. Unbridled Wrath still pays 2 Rage on two-handed hits.
  • Players who will open the calculator at 20 if they want Piercing Howl instead of Blood Craze.

Who should skip it

  • Dungeon tanks. Protection talents are empty on this page.
  • Anyone expecting Dual Wield Specialization, Death Wish or Bloodthirst before level 20. Those sit on later Fury rows.

Milestones

  1. Level 10: First point

Cruelty 1/5 after the level-10 point. Melee critical strike chance +1%.

  2. Level 14: Five Fury points spent

Cruelty 5/5 is +5% melee crit. Row 2 is now legal; Unbridled Wrath is the spend at 15, not at 14.

  3. Level 15: Unbridled Wrath starts

The sixth point is Unbridled Wrath 1/5. Extra Rage on weapon hits begins here.

  4. Level 19: Ten Fury points spent

Unbridled Wrath 5/5 is a 60% chance at extra Rage. Row 3 is legal for the 11th point at 20.

  5. Level 20: Plan complete

Blood Craze 1/3. Bloodthirst is not trained; only incoming-damage triggers apply.

How to play it

  • Open with Charge rank 1 (trained at 4): 9 Rage and a 1 second stun, not usable in combat (spellbook beta). If you need Rage after the fight starts, Bloodrage at 10 grants 10 Rage then 10 more over 10 seconds at the cost of health.
  • Spend Rage on Heroic Strike when a swing is coming (rank 2 at 8: +21 damage, 15 Rage; rank 3 at 16: +32 damage, 15 Rage) and keep Rend up (rank 2 at 10: 28 damage over 12 seconds, 10 Rage; rank 3 at 20: 45 over 15 seconds). Those numbers are the Forever trainer ranks, not a priority parse.
  • Hamstring rank 1 at 8 (5 damage, 40% snare, 10 Rage) if a target runs. Battle Shout rank 2 at 12 for party melee attack power. Thunder Clap rank 2 at 18 (20 Rage) on a pack. Cleave and Victory Rush are trained at 20. Execute rank 1 is 24, so it is not in this range. Berserker Stance is 30.
  • If you over-pull, Hamstring and leave. Blood Craze at 20 only regenerates after a melee crit, a hit for more than 20% of your health, or Bloodthirst; Bloodthirst is a row-7 talent and is not trained here, so it is not an emergency cooldown.

Why this order

Level 10 unlocks one talent point; level 20 unlocks eleven. This order spends that budget inside Fury and leaves Arms and Protection at zero.

Row 2 needs five earlier Fury points, and row 3 needs ten. Cruelty five then Unbridled Wrath five is a legal path into Blood Craze.

Unbridled Wrath still pays extra Rage on two-handed weapons, so the plan does not assume Dual Wield Specialization, which sits on row 4 and is out of reach at eleven points.

What the spent talents do

Cruelty

Cruelty adds 1% melee critical strike chance per rank, 5% at rank 5. It is a row-1 Fury talent with no prerequisite, so it can take the first five points.

Unbridled Wrath

Unbridled Wrath gives a chance to generate 1 extra Rage on a weapon hit, or 2 Rage with a two-handed weapon. Rank 5 is a 60% chance. That Rage is what Heroic Strike, Rend and later Fury buttons spend.

Blood Craze

Blood Craze rank 1 regenerates 1% of total health over 6 seconds after you are critically hit, after Bloodthirst damage, or after a single attack that deals more than 20% of your maximum health. Bloodthirst is a row-7 talent, so at 10–20 only the incoming-damage triggers apply.

Weaknesses and tradeoffs

  • Booming Voice is skipped, so Battle Shout and Demoralizing Shout keep their baseline radius.
  • Piercing Howl is not trained. Nearby enemies are not Dazed by this plan.
  • There is no Dual Wield Specialization, Death Wish, Flurry or Bloodthirst in this range. Those sit behind more Fury points than level 20 allows.

Gear notes

  • Subterranean Cape (#14149) from Taragaman in Ragefire Chasm prints 17 Armor, +3 Strength, requires 13. Strength on a cloak feeds white hits and Heroic Strike; a same-slot cloak with stamina instead would trade that Strength for surviving a bad Charge. Compare recorded cloaks on the item page by the same required-level or item-level field, not mixed.

Optional point

Piercing Howl at 20

You would rather Daze a pack than take Blood Craze’s 1% health return.

Piercing Howl is a 1-rank Fury talent on row 3 after ten earlier Fury points. It Dazes nearby enemies, reducing movement speed by 50% for 6 seconds. The 11th point swaps Blood Craze for Howl; Cruelty 5 and Unbridled Wrath 5 stay.
